This is my fourth and final picture of the word play series. The real word was thumb print as in the pattern on your thumb that the cops record, but I changed it to a picture of a thumb printing out. Believe it or not it was difficult to find a picture of a printer in an office so I just ended up using a picture of a plain printer. I liked this greatly enjoyed this project because you got to put your own twist on things however you imagined it.

My Kid Could Do That
We watched a movie in class about a four year old that adored painting. She painted abstracts that resembled work of many other famous abstract artists. Soon her painting began to grow in interest from nearly everyone. After a while she paintings were being ordered before she actually even painted them yet. Then a question was raised about whether or not she was the sole artist of her paintings, implying that her father helped her or enhanced them before being sold. The title of the movie is "My Kid Could Do That" because anyone could paint what she was painting, the only thing that was getting her so well-known was the fact that she was only four years old. Our assignment was to create an abstract painting however we wanted. I enjoyed this project because it let us be creative and go free.

Sesame Street Cartoon
For this project I worked with Linda and Harris to make a comic strip. This comic strip is about the sesame street clan here at Western. Personally, I made the Bert and Ernie picture, put all the pictures together and made the dividers and speech bubbles. This was an alright project I just wish that we had more of a guide line because it was somewhat difficult to come up with a plot. To make the pictures have a some-what cartoon look we added the poster edges filter. All in all I think it turned out pretty nicely.

Pixlr.com Review
Out of the 7 photo-editing websites I visited today, Pixlr.com was by far my favorite. It was easy and enjoyable to use. I really liked the option of photo editing yourself or use some vintage effects they already had ready to go. They also had the option to use a provided picture or you could upload one of your choosing. They also had a large variety of different effects you could apply. This site was a very interactive and interesting I enjoyed using it a lot.

Horse Shoes Word Play
This is the third picture in my word play series. I put a cool pair of nike kicks(google style) on each hoof of the horse that is running on the beach. I chose this horse because its hoofs were all in slightly different directions so I was able to rotate each shoe to mimic the angle of the hoof it covered. The shoes looked to clear to be in the same picture as the horse so I tried to blur them and make them less depict.
Pea Brain Word Play
This is my second edition of the word play series. Even though its simple the point gets across. Basically I put a pea in the spot a brain would be in your head to symbolize a small brain. "Pea Brain" is often a term used to describe a person with little intelligence. Then I added some text to make sure the pea didn't look like an apple or anything that could be construed out of a slightly disfigured green sphere. The wordplay series is a fun and creative project. I enjoy it.

Candy Cane Word Play
This is my first of four separate pictures of a play on words. Feeling in the holiday spirit I decided to do a candy cane. Normally when I think "cane" the first image that pops into my head is an old man with back problems. I was worried that if I put together pieces of candy to make a cane people may not have seen the individual candies and the pun would have been diluted. To make a stronger statement I made the cane an actually candy cane. The border and writing were just for the holiday spirit and to add some pizazz.

Negative Space 2
For this project I started off by thinking of a shape that could be easily recognisable. My first thought was the Eifle Tower but then I realized that you wouldn't really be able to read the words that would fill in the negative space. Thats about the point where I sided on a fish instead. The words that I chose to fill the fish in with were fish, swim, sea, ocean, reef, blue, dive and aqua. These words all came to mind when I thought of a fish. In the original picture the fish already had a natural light blue outline which is more evident towards its tail fin. I enjoyed this project it was quick, easy, and fun.

Wordle
For the Wordle project I simply used the URL for my personal blog to produce the words in this picture. Wordle took words from all my blog posts from the descriptions of my pictures. I believe the words used the most are the biggest and the words used the least are the smallest. I simply changed the color of the words and I was content. The website is very easy to use. This was a fun little project that took minimal time but it still looks good.
Kaleidoscope
Before I began this project I watched a fabulous youtube tutorial that showed me the proper way to develop the kaleidoscope effect. I selected the base of the triangle to be the orange flowers so that they would be the surrounding edge of the finished image. I thought the process was easy and it turned out great. This was a quick and informational project. I hope we do some more things like this in the future. It was very enjoyable.
15 Green Things
Believe it or not there actually are parts of 15 different green pictures even though you may not see them or they are a different color. Theres an archway, an arrow, a car, 3 people, a cat, apples, a handicapped symbol, a tree, a parking meeter, grass, people holding hands, the word "fireworks", and the word "free". I tried to hide some pictures as best i could. Either that or intermingle them with another photo. For instance the tree is the parking meeter's hair because the parking meeter looks like a face. Put the two images together and you get and abstract person! I kind of liked this project but the restriction about you can't add any images or shapes or anything made it not as enjoyable.

4 Square
For the 4 Square project I decided to take a a picture of my friends feet and alter it in four different ways. I tried to make the alterations as noticeable and distinct as possible. The upper left corner is brightened with a blurred filter on it. The upper right is darkened and the shadows are accented. The lower left is desaturated and I used the history brush to bring back the bright color in the shoes and socks. There is also a textured filter on to of it. The lower right simply has a certain type of filter on it to make it a light blue color. I made sure to accent the shows and out lines so that it was still clear that it was the same picture as in the other three frames. I really enjoyed this project and thought it was fun to alter the picture how ever we wanted. That kind of freedom for creativity is the reason I took this class in the first place

Negative Space
Last night Steve Jobs passed away at age 56. I decided to dedicate this project to him even though I didn't know him personally. He has made such a large impact on the world he deserves some recognition. I took the apple logo and replaced the normal white with different words that I thought were appropriate for this occasion. The design is simple but straight forward. I made the word RIP the largest because i knew that he wasn't doing well before he died so I can only hope that he went peacefully.

Crazy Combo
In this project we were instructed to make an animal out of anything we wanted. For my image i chose the body of a crow and started out with changing his beak to that of a Toucan's. Then I gave him legs and feet. They are duck legs with mens loafer shoes. Lastly i gave the crow a mohawk just to add some pizzazz. I also gave a ladybug a butterfly's wigs and placed it on the edge of the table. I thought that, because this is a wacky image already, why not go all out? So to finish it off i put it both creations on a red table that would stand out against the hypnotizing spiral background. Personally, i enjoyed this project because it let you be creative and make what you felt like making.

Easter Egg History Brushes
This is a picture of fancy Easter eggs sitting out to dry. I tried to find a colorful design so that that when i desaturated it (took the color out of the picture), it would pop even more. I chose this picture because usually you see rubber bands layered on top of the egg to create stripes, but these eggs have flowers on them. I thought this was unique and it came out beautifully.
This is a picture of a carton filled with dyed Easter eggs that I desaturated and then re-colored the important part the the picture; the Eggs. The variety of colors makes the picture look more interesting in my personal opinion. After i did one Easter egg picture i decided to do another because i liked it so much. Maybe next time though, I might choose a picture with a bit more detailed background. That way its more recognizable. I like the picture anyway though.

Humming Bird History Brush
When this project was assigned I immediately thought about something that was colorful in its natural state so that when I put the color back in, the colors would truly stand out. Stained Glass was one of my first thoughts. In this History Brush assignment i tried to re-color the main focal points of the picture. In my opinion, I think tat this is my best History Brush project. I also have an easter egg one and a war painted friend of mine.
Music Project
In this project I chose to use the optional tie-die background. The music notes and people tend to stand out more. The middle of a tie-die spiral looks like a burst of color to me so i did the opposite and took bursts out of the color from the solid lines of color. Personally I don't think I would have put the solid lines of color in the picture in the first place but after I looked at it for a bit they grew on me. Overall Iwouldn't have put these pieces all together to make a picture like this but now it looks nice.
